A $12.6 million transportation improvement project is underway on John Sims Parkway.  The project is expanding the busy thoroughfare to six lanes between Government Avenue and Bayshore Drive.  In addition, the State Road 85/John Sims Parkway intersection is being improved.  Work on the project began in January 2006, and is scheduled for completion in 2008.
